Mitchner is rolling in his grave wishing I would have helped him on his book  Alaska. Blog site is now open; great poems on it, including Winter Irish,  Year In Review 2010, Christmas 2010,  a poetic tribute to Elizabeth Edwards,  Veterans' Day 2010,  Thanksgiving 2010, General Old Age, Endless Summer and in memory to 911 Images and sadly in tribute to Luis Villalobos Requeim to a Venture Angel--He will be thoroughly missed but his investments in people and technologies will live on.  A celebration of his life was  held November 11, 2009. Very fitting tribute. I normally suggest donations to Stanford only but an exception is now proper. A Luis Villalobos Endowed Fellowship in Entrepreneurship has been established at UCI Paul Merage School of Business. Michael P. Ridley was raised in a small fishing village, Petersburg, Alaska and fished commercially for six summers, putting his way through Stanford University, B.A. With Great Distinction and Phi Beta Kappa, and  Yale Law School. He is a lawyer in Irvine, California' representing venture capital and private equity funds, small business investment companies and numerous emerging companies. He has taught at the NASBIC Venture Capital Institute and Chapman Business School and was an adjunct professor at Chapman Law School.  A former director of Pacific Inland Bank and former trustee of the Stanford Hospital and Stanford University, serving on the Investment Committee and Subcommittee on Venture Capital, he has participated in over a thousand venture capital and private equity financings, including several as a general partner of an incubator fund. He has been involved in countless financings ranging from seed capital to over $500,000,000 and actively assists his clients in the procurement of debt and equity funds and human capital.   He is also a published poet, regularly tweeting as Alaskanpoet with a 140 character poem on an event of the day and cofounder of the annual St. Patrick's Day O'Ridley, O'Cooley, O'My Day of Golf and Meditation, which is one of the largest tournaments in Orange County, having been held for 20 years.
